Our Intention Creates Reality

For many, many years, the first thing I did was grab my phone, waste thirty minutes and then scramble the rest of the morning to figure out my day and feel productive. For months, I have consciously been working to build some better habits to create a meaningful morning, which ultimately leads to a more productive day. It is a slow process, as I have never been a morning person, but I am becoming one.

During quarantine, some of these habits began to fall to the wayside. However, I have created a simple routine in the evening that really helps me kickstart my mornings. I use the amazing Just Today planner from Playful Paper to time block my day, write down dinner plans, and track several other things in one place. Additionally, I begin to think about my next morning and set my intentions. This includes everything from my mental checklist to running through my gratitude to identifying areas of interaction I want to foster- evening game with my kids, extra long story time before bed, a few snuggles before I’m off to work.

When my alarm goes off, I grab my coffee and check my planner. I know my mind is jumbled in the mornings (again, not quite a morning person yet) so having it all set out as a friendly reminder helps me kick start my day.

If you have some wonderful daily habits that help you be mindful and set intentions for your day, I would love to hear from you! I am a work in progress, so any suggestions are welcome!
